What’s the difference between number dominoes and dot dominoes?

Dot dominoes are the traditional dominoes, with dots to indicate the numeric value of that particular domino tile.
Number dominoes have numbers to indicate the numerical value of that tile. The numbers are helpful for folks whose eyesight is less that perfect and have difficulty counting the dots when the numbers are large (up to 12 or 15 with some sets) or the tiles are not near them. In play the tiles may be on the other side of the table.
